1. What does IBA have to offer the Management aspirant applying for the PGPM Program?

IBA is an institute founded to develop a cadre of world class management professionals. It has been conceived as a centre of excellence and frankly the shortcomings of many existing institutions have helped point us in the right direction. We offer a two year Management education program that is at par with the best and equips one to step confidently into the international management arena.

2. What does IBA have to offer the Retail aspirant applying for the PGPRM Program?

Our PGPRM program is in line with retail industry requirement. The course, pedagogy & inputs changes as the requirement changes in the Industry. PGPRM program is designed with inputs from academicians and retail experts who are in Retail Industry from past several years. The course has 3 trimesters (common to the normal PG Programme) followed by 6 months industry exposure followed by 2 trimesters of specialization study. Course fee includes your laptop & software costs.

3. Is IBA affiliated to any recognized body ?Yes, IBA is affiliated to PTU (Punjab Techincal University) which is approved university by UGC. All the students who joins PGPM/PGPRM Programme at IBA will be eligible to get MBA degree from PTU (subject to clearing all the papers of PTU).
4. How is IBA different from any other B-school?

We would say that difference stems from attitude. We recognize that the conventional approach to management education is to churn out managers for whom theory is management. At IBA, we endeavor to develop a thinking individual who has the mental flexibility to adapt concepts to new situations maybe even develop new concepts. While there are other institutions that are beginning to question existing management education patterns instead we have gone ahead and the continuous feedback from Industry strengthens our curriculum that addresses the realities of today's knowledge economy which is quite evident from the performance of IBA Alumni in the Industry.

5. Is attitude enough to help managers face a dynamic future?

No. But then we don't stop at attitude alone, we back it up with helping students develop skill sets that equip them with the ability to analyze and devise appropriate solutions. Our educational programs focus on providing as close to a 'live' management environment as possible. While concepts are imbibed through the traditional lecture methods, case studies are utilized to enable students to discover theory in application. Real time projects provide that essential 'hands-on' experience without which education remains in the realm of academia. As a matter of fact we even go to the extent of providing our students with exposure to international management practices through a visit to corporate and institutions abroad.

6. Would you say your program is more rigorous than other similar Programs?Definitely so. Being an autonomous institution gives us the advantage of devising a program which has far more to offer in the curriculum. Our Governing Council and Industry network, which consists of leading corporate Mangers, Consultants, Researchers, Administrators and Academicians, is responsible for designing a program that is relevant to contemporary needs. The emphasis is on delivering a program that helps the student build a solid career. Towards this we actively address the subject areas, personality, emotional and ethical development of the individual as well.
7. How is the student evaluation carried out?

As an institution that provides a holistic management education it is natural that our approach to evaluation is also holistic. We have avoided the trap of judging by the results of term examinations. Instead we adopt an evaluation process that is on-going throughout the program and Multidimensional. Performance of the student is assessed through case studies, presentations, field visits, book review, research paper, mid term and end term examination. The assessment is designed to enable students to understand their shortcomings so that they may overcome them.
